What is psychedelic therapy?

1

Psychedelic therapy is psychotherapy that incorporates legally prescribed medicines, ketamine or psilocybin, into an ongoing therapeutic process. The medicine is not the treatment on its own. It is combined with preparation and integration sessions so the insight gained during a journey becomes lasting change rather than a temporary experience.

How is this different from a ketamine clinic?

2

Many ketamine clinics are medical settings that administer IV ketamine for depression with little or no psychotherapy attached. In ketamine assisted psychotherapy, the medicine is a complement to deep therapeutic work, not a replacement for it. Sessions are never offered without preparation and integration, since the therapeutic container is what makes the experience genuinely transformative.

Is psychedelic therapy legal?

3

Yes. Ketamine is FDA approved and has been used clinically for decades. Psilocybin therapy is conducted legally in Denver, Colorado, where it is regulated under the state's natural medicine program. Preparation work can happen in Connecticut, New York or virtually, with the medicine journey itself taking place where it is legal.

What are your credentials?

Both ketamine and psilocybin have been studied extensively at institutions including Johns Hopkins and NYU, with meaningful outcomes for depression, PTSD, end of life anxiety and addiction. A medical intake, careful screening and a trained clinical facilitator are part of every step to keep the process safe.

Who is a good fit for psychedelic therapy?

How do I get started?

Psychedelic therapy draws on ketamine assisted psychotherapy, psilocybin assisted therapy, EMDR and a psychoanalytic, IFS informed foundation. These approaches are often combined, particularly EMDR and psychedelic work for clients with a significant trauma history.

Preparation sessions build the emotional and nervous system tools needed to feel safe and get clear on your intentions before a journey. Integration sessions afterward help translate what surfaced into real, lasting shifts in daily life. Neither medicine session is offered without this surrounding support.Lower doses tend to bring light detachment and reflection, while higher doses can lead to a deeper reassessment of thoughts, feelings and beliefs. Sessions are guided in a supportive, in-person setting so you can safely move through whatever comes up. Your dosage and goals are always discussed with you beforehand.

Ketamine sessions are held in person in Greenwich, Connecticut and in New York City. Psilocybin journeys take place in Denver, Colorado, where the medicine is legal. Preparation and integration sessions are available in person in Greenwich or virtually across Connecticut, New York and Colorado.

This work is best suited for people who are genuinely committed to a therapeutic process, not just the medicine experience itself, and who are curious and willing to engage with their own inner world. It tends to help most those who feel stuck, have tried other approaches without lasting results, or sense that the roots of their suffering live beneath conscious thought.
