Psilocybin Therapy Near Golden and the Foothills
People who live in Golden and along the foothills tend to already know something about slowing down. Trail running before work, sitting with a view instead of a screen, noticing weather. Nikki Fall, LCSW brings that same instinct into her work as a licensed psychotherapist, psychoanalyst, and Colorado Natural Medicine Clinical Facilitator, offering legal psilocybin therapy at a licensed Denver facility a short drive from Golden.
Golden has always sat in an odd, useful spot between two worlds, a working town built around a brewery and a school of mines, and the literal edge of the Rockies, with Lookout Mountain and Clear Creek Canyon a few minutes from downtown in either direction. People who choose to live here tend to want both things at once: a grounded, unpretentious life and easy access to something bigger than themselves. That same tension, wanting depth without pretense, is often exactly what brings someone to psilocybin therapy instead of another round of talk therapy alone.
The Body Keeps Score Here Too
Psilocybin therapy is often described in terms of insight, and insight matters, but the foothills community tends to understand something as well: this work happens also in the body. Under psilocybin, the nervous system that has spent years braced against old threats gets a rare chance to settle. Breathing slows. Muscles that have been quietly clenched for a decade let go. Nikki always focuses prep work on allowing the body and mind to find safety before and during the journey. And that makes all the difference for journey experiences and outcomes.
This is part of why clients who already have some embodied practice, whether that is hiking, climbing, yoga, or simply time outside, often move through preparation faster. They already have a working relationship with their own nervous system. The work is teaching that system to trust the process enough to actually let go during the session itself.
Individual psilocybin journeys happen at a licensed Denver facility following about three weeks of preparation, with integration available virtually. This tends to suit people working through deep trauma and where trust in others has been lost. Many people are fearful of psychedelic group experiences, although we know that healing accelerates in the presence of others. However, some people do carry deep, complex trauma and benefit from individual nervous system support and individualized care. Sometimes, a very supportive, relational, 1:1 container is needed. Individual sessions are also beautiful opportunities to work through spiritual questions, grief, life transitions, or any kind of stuckness that stems from old wounds; wounds that are still asking to be seen and healed, even if our lives are full in many other ways.
Individual Work
Couples make up a meaningful part of Nikki's practice, and a shared psilocybin journey can do something conventional couples therapy sometimes cannot: it lets both partners feel, in real time, how old wounds are shaping the present relationship - and in fact distorting one’s view of the other. Psychedelic couples work opens the couple up to individual healing and to seeing more truth and beauty in themselves and their partner. The couples package includes three weeks of preparation, a six to seven hour guided journey in Denver, and three weeks of integration. Talk therapy without the psychedelic component is available too.
Working With Couples
Integration does not have to happen at a desk. Many clients from Golden find that a slow walk along Clear Creek, time on a familiar trail, or simply sitting outside with a journal does more for processing a session than sitting indoors trying to think it through. Nikki often builds this into integration planning directly, encouraging clients to use the landscape they already trust as part of the work rather than something separate from it.
Bringing the Work Home to the Foothills
For trauma that lives more in the body than in a clear memory, Nikki also offers EMDR, and for clients who want serious depth work without medicine at all, ongoing psychoanalytic and relational psychotherapy.
EMDR and Depth Therapy
The process begins with a free consultation to talk honestly about whether this is the right time for this kind of work. Medical assessments follow and then a preparation phase, usually about three weeks, virtually. The dosing session takes place at a licensed Denver facility and runs six to seven hours, after which integration continues for several more weeks, ideally woven into the routines and landscape a person already trusts rather than treated as separate homework. There is no fixed script for how long any of this takes. Some clients need more time in preparation before they feel ready, and that pace is respected rather than rushed.
How a Session Actually Unfolds
Nikki trained in clinical psychology at Johannes Gutenberg University in Germany, earned an MSW at NYU, and completed psychoanalytic training through the National Institute for the Psychotherapies. She is EMDRIA licensed, trained in psilocybin facilitation and ketamine assisted psychotherapy through Fluence, and holds a Colorado Natural Medicine Clinical Facilitator license. She co-founded OUR HOUSE, running psychedelic group therapy programs and retreats across Colorado, Connecticut, and New York, and is licensed in all three states.
"We are not our thoughts. And we are not our pain. Psychedelics guide us back to who we really are, to connection, to more peace and to more compassion for self and others." Nikki Fall, LCSW
